- This may require you to subscribe to another service first. I live in
- Santa Barbara, California, and have to rely on GTE. I got call waiting a
- while back as a part of a special package deal. It took a while, but sure
- enough, I got bumped off one evening. I found out that it was a call
- waiting from my daughter's boyfriend. I called GTE, and was told that I
- had to subscribe to "cancel call waiting" in order to turn call waiting
- off. When I asked why the facility for turning call waiting off wasn't
- part of the original package, the lady said " I don't know." Cost: $1.25
- a month extra! Check with your phone company to see if you have to do the
- same...
